Amber is a native Memphian and a graduate of Hodges University with a Master of Legal Studies degree, Summa Cum Laude. She is also an alumnus of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Political Science and minor in Legal studies degree. She is a nationally known political strategist, activist, organizer, and podcaster.
She has worked with several organizations including BLM Louisville, A.Philip Randolph Institute- Memphis Chapter, Democratic Party of Georgia, Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Official Black Lives Matter Memphis, and Organizing for Action (OFA) which inspired her to address and work on issues that affect Black people. Since then, empowering women has been a focal point of her political career, and she has been a powerful advocate for equal and reproductive rights for women for years. Through these organizations, Amber has gained invaluable experience in strategic grassroots organization, political education, and digital communication, which has and will be used to work on issues that impact black people and others in local and national communities.
Amber is a local policy analyst and activist who uses her platform as a Millennial, National Committee Woman, Caucus Chair, and Black liberationist to advocate and educate on a plethora of issues. She is a talented speaker and speech writer who enjoys using her voice and platform to inspire her peers and the next generation. She was most recently honored as one of the Memphis Flyers’ “Top 20 under 30” class of 2023.
To expand her personal brand Amber founded “The Law According to Amber”. She is the Founder and Content Creator of The Law According To Amber Blog and Podcast in January 2019 to expand her creative genius onto a wider platform and a perspective most aren’t used to seeing.
